Creator Dashboard

1. Top Bar

  • mtion Logo (🏠): Opens a dropdown of global commands 🔽

    • Go to Dashboard

    • Save (Ctrl + S), Undo (Ctrl + Z), Redo (Ctrl + Y), Delete (Del)

    • Focus (F), Switch View (Tab), Snap to Camera (Shift + Ctrl + F), Image Snapshot (Shift + Ctrl + P)

    • Quality Levels: Poor → Supreme (Shift + Ctrl + 1–6)

  • Friend Search (👤): Find and follow other creators.

  • Notifications (🔔): See friend requests, mentions, and updates.

  • User Menu (🖼): Access your profile, preferences, and log out.

2. Left Panel

  • Dashboard: Return here at any time.

  • Worlds: Browse and open your saved worlds.

  • Assets: Browse all your 3D assets and community-shared assets.

Assets Details

You can manage your assets and search for new assets made by the community by going into the "Assets" menu, simply click on "Assets" on the right side panel when you are in the Dashboard.

Once you are in the Assets browser, you will find all the assets currently available to use under "My Library" tab, as well as assets that are shared with you and free to use by the community under "Community" tab.

Import

The import button allows you to import any .mtion assets.

Left Panel Filters & Categories

The filters are here to help you easily manage your assets. You can multi select various filters to see assets within that specific filters.

My Library:

  • All: All assets in your library

  • Owned: Assets owned by you

  • Community: Assets you got from the "Community" tab

  • Archived: Assets you no longer want by archiving. Arhived assets are not deleted from your account, they only show up under "archived" filter.

My Releases:

  • All: All assets made by yourself

  • Unlisted: Assets you made that are unlisted from the public

  • Public: Assets you made that you also published. Once published, it's available for others to download and use in their clubhouses.

  • Shared: Assets you made that you shared with friends.

  • Transferred: Assets you made that you transferred ownership to another user. This is good for commissions.

Community Filters:

  • All: All assets you got from the "Community" tab

  • Received: Assets that were shared with you by friends

  • Friends: Assets that your friends made that you got from the "Community" tab

  • Free: Assets you got from the community for free

Sync Filters:

  • All: All your assets regardless of the sync state

  • Unprocessed: Assets that you imported and have not yet done any management to it (e.g. categorization, puiblish, synced to the cloud etc.)

  • On Server: Assets in your library that are on the server, meaning you have not yet downloaded.

  • Synced: Assets you have uploaded to the cloud. This helps if you use mtion across devices, as you can access the synced assets when you log in mtion with the same account from another PC.

  • Outdated: Assets that you acquired previously, if the owner of the assets pushed udpates to these assets, these assets will become outdated in here so you can choose to update them if you wish.

Tags:

  • All: All your assets regardless of the tags

  • Avatar: Assets that are characters with springbones, so you can use them as avatars in your clubhouse.

  • VFX: Assets that have visual effects

  • Physics-Enabled: Assets that have physics, which means these assets will react to physics when they are placed in your clubhouse

  • Interactive: Assets that are interactive (e.g. toys) and have certain functionality or interactive behaviour attached to them.

  • Static: Assets that do not have any phycis

Categories

You can easily find an asset by using the asset categories.

Editing an Asset

You can edit an asset's name, description and category by clicking on the 3 dots on the right top corner of an asset's card. You will see an "Edit" window, where you can further make the changes.

Sharing an Asset

You can share assets that you own with other friends in mtion. Click on the "Share" icon on an asset's card, and you will see a list of your friends. Simply select friends you want to share this asset with, and they will receive a notification that you've shared an asset with them!

Transferring an Asset

You can transfer ownership of an asset to another user in mtion. Click on the "Transfer" icon on an asset's card, find the person you want to transfer it to in the pop up window, and hit transfer. This is particularly useful if you were commissioned by someone, as you can use this feature to transfer ownership to the person who commissioned you.

Publishing an Asset

You can publish asset you made and own, so anyone in mtion can access to it. To publish an asset, make sure it is synced first, then navigate to the Edit pop-up window, add description and category, then hit the "Publish" button.

Published assets will show up under "Community" tab available for anyone to view and download.

Community

Under this tab, you will find all the assets published by users in mtion. You can browse assets in here, and easily add them to your library.

  • Templates: Browse all your templates and community-shared templates.

Templates Details

You can manage your templates and search for new templates made by the community by going into the "Templates" menu, simply click on "Templates" on the right side panel when you are in the Dashboard.

My Library

Templates Management Browser - My Library

Similar to the Asset Browser's filters, you will find all the filters on the left side panel for all your Templates as well. These filters functions similar to the ones in the Asset Broswer, so we won't go into further details. You can refer to "Assets" page to see more details related to these filters.

Create a World from a Template

In order to make a template into a editable World, you will need to first sync it to your local device. You can find the sync option by clicking on the 3 dots on the top right corner of a template card.

Once synced, you will see the option "Create new" appear. Click on this will create a new world using this template, so you can make further editing.

Publishing a Template

*For permission considerations, please note that when someone downloads a template you’ve published, they will have access to the assets within that template, but they can only use those assets within the template itself.

Community

This is where all templates published by the community are listed. You can browse and add a template to your library. Once a template is added to your library, you will need to sync it to your local device before creating a world from this template.

    • Featured Experiences: Hand-picked by the mtion team.

    • Community Worlds: Popular and newly published worlds by other creators.

  • Recently Edited: Your recently edited worlds

  • Footer:

    • Discord & X Icons: Quick links to our community channels.

    • Help (❓): Opens our support docs and FAQ.

Edit Mode

When you open a world in Edit Mode, the interface is divided into six main regions to streamline creation.

1. Top Bar

  • mtion Logo & Menu: Click to access global commands (Dashboard, Save, Undo/Redo, Quality Levels, etc.).

  • Mode Tabs: Switch between Editor (3D viewport) and Interactions (node graph).

  • Settings (⚙️): Opens the World Settings popup for name, description, publish options, and visibility/remix toggles.

  • Social & Profile Icons: Friend search, notifications, and your user menu.

2. Left Side Panel

Use the vertical buttons to switch between four panels:

  • Scene Hierarchy

    • A collapsible tree of every element in your world: Cameras, Displays, Lights, Objects, Shapes, Avatars, Audio Sources, First Person Beacons, etc.

    • Click to select, drag to reorder or group.

  • Multiplayer

    • Players: See connected users in real time (avatars, ping, roles).

    • Chat: Built-in chat window for live communication—type commands or messages directly. This allows you to chat with players in your world while you are in Edit Mode.

  • External Triggers

    • Quick list of livestream and input triggers (Twitch connection, chat commands, channel point redeems, hotkeys, API hooks).

    • Play buttons let you test triggers instantly; Power toggles enable/disable.

  • VMC Connections

    • Manage VMC integrations.

    • Configure ports, add avatars, and enable live data feeds into your world.

3. Inspector Panel (Right Panel)

  • Shows all editable properties for the selected object.

  • Changes apply instantly—even in live multiplayer sessions.

4. Main View - Top

  • Hang Toolbar: Contextual icons for grid snapping, gizmo visibility, audio mute, and helper overlays.

  • Play Button: enter Play Mode.

  • Publish Button: one-click publishing your world to an experience.

  • Disable Simulation: When toggled on, will disable all physics-enabled assets in the world.

  • Show Walkable Surfaces: When toggled on, will show surfaces in the world that are set as walkable paths for autonomous NPCs movement

5. Main View - Center (3D Viewport)

Your real-time canvas: build and manipulate objects directly with mouse-driven gizmos (move, rotate, scale).

6. Main View - Bottom

  • Popout Preview: A popout preview window of selected camera.

  • Camera Preview Tray: Displayiong all created camera views in your world.

  • Asset Browser: A convenient location to open up asset browser while staying in Edit Mode.

  • Timelines Tray: This is where you can create automated camera tracks or light tracks. It's another way to setting up camera sequence without using the Node Graph.

  • Help Menu

Play Mode Pause Menu

When you enter Play Mode, the interface clears away all editing tools so you can experience your world as a player would. The only on-screen UI is the Pause Menu, which appears when you press Esc (PC) or the equivalent on gamepad.

Pause Menu Sections

  1. Audio & Camera Settings

    • Master Audio: Adjust global volume.

    • Sensitivity / Invert X / Invert Y: Tweak your look controls on the fly.

  2. Primary Actions

    • Resume: Return to the world (if you are the owner)

    • Edit: Seamlessly switch back into Edit Mode for live tweaks.

    • Remix: Fork the current world into your Dashboard as a new World.

    • Go to Dashboard: Exit to the main Dashboard.

  3. Controls Reference

    • Mouse & Keyboard: Quick reminder of movement (W/A/S/D), jump, run, interact keys, sticker placement, and chat toggle.

    • Gamepad: Button mappings for console-style play.

  4. Author Options (if you own the world)

    • Delete All Stickers: Clear all placed stickers in one click—a handy tool for resetting community-chalked boards or message walls.
